Appeals for the Missing On London Waste Collection Vehicles As part of a new fundraising appeal by the charity Missing People, City and Borough Waste is supporting ‘do it for missing children’ an appeal by the charity Missing People to try and generate £1.4million between Christmas and International Missing Children’s Day (25th May 2008) as well as highlighting individual missing children. Huge posters featuring appeals and photographs of missing people will be posted on the City and Borough Waste collection vehicles across London in December and January. City and Borough Waste’s London Operations Manager, Erin Monk, said: “Our vehicles are operating in London’s streets collecting waste from shops and businesses throughout the night at times and in places where people living on the streets tend to move around. “In our line of work we really have seen it all, and it seemed like a good idea for us to try to help Missing People by highlighting current missing cases and asking the public to give money to the charity.” This initiative is part of Missing People’s first ever UK fundraising campaign ‘do it for missing children’. Chief Executive of Missing People, Paul Tuohy said: “The charity is urging individuals and companies to help us raise £1.4 million – that’s £10 for every report “The money raised will enable us to continue to deliver and enhance our vital services for missing children and adults, unidentified people, their families and others who care for them.” If you think you can help in any way or have any information |
